The post includes responsibility for gastroenterology inpatients on a 1 week in 10 rota including weekend ward rounds. Programmed clinics and endoscopy lists are cancelled when on the wards. The post holder will participate in a 1 in 11 category A out of hours on call rota. An on-call availability supplement will be paid. The post-holder is managerially accountable to the Clinical Service Unit Clinical Director and professionally accountable to the Chief Medical Officer.
